When will the housing be available?
UH College Suites student apartment housing is now leasing for the 2006-2007 Academic session.

Who is eligible to live in the housing?
Students enrolled at Albany College of Pharmacy, Sage College of Albany, Sage Graduate School, Albany Medical College, Albany Law School, Maria, SUNY, St. Rose and Union are eligible to live in the new UH College Suites housing.

How do I apply to live in the housing?
Contact us directly by phone, email or come to our office for the application packet. The application is also available online. Apartments are on a first come, first serve basis.

What does the apartment include?
First things first! High Speed Internet, Local Phone and Cable with HBO!! All apartments also include a fully furnished living room, fully applianced kitchen, a bathroom per two students and single occupancy bedrooms. Heat and hot water, central air conditioning and electricity are also included in the rental cost.

Can I choose the people I room with?
Yes. You, as well as your selected apartment mates, will need to fill out a roommate request form. If you do not have a request for apartment mates you will be assigned to an apartment.

What should I bring?
All apartments are completely furnished. You should bring personal items such as bed linens (twin size), towels, cooking utensils, iron, alarm clock, computer, etc.

Are there laundry facilities?
Yes, there are facilities located on the second and third floors. Machines ARE coin operated. Quarter change machine available in the vending room.

Is there telephone service available in the student bedrooms?
Yes. All bedrooms will be equipped with telephone service as well as the living room. Local service is included in the rent cost. Voice mail and long distance service available for an additional fee. Resident must provide own telephone.

Is there internet access available in the student bedrooms?
Yes. All bedrooms have high-speed internet access as well as the living room.

What is my room assignment? When will I receive it?
Room assignments are made by UHCS management in July and a final confirmation letter of your assignment should arrive at your permanent address around July 31. International students should allow three to four weeks for delivery. This confirmation includes information regarding which apartment and bedroom you will be living in; your College Suites’ address and phone number; and the name of your roommates.

Can I contact my roommate before we move in?
If you have one or more roommates, those names and email addresses will appear on your final confirmation letter. If authorized, feel free to write your roommate(s) before you arrive. It is our policy to not share telephone numbers or permanent addresses.

What size is the bedroom?
8. 5 feet x 12 feet with 5 electrical outlets

What furniture comes in a bedroom?
Each bedroom comes equipped with a standard twin mattress with a boxed bed frame, desk with 3 drawers and keyboard tray, desk chair, 6-drawer dresser, small wardrobe closet, window blinds, Ethernet hookup, local telephone service, cable television with HBO.

What will I need to bring to complete my bedroom?
You will need a Cat 5 cable, small television, computer, and telephone; all bedding needs, pillows, alarm clock, floor lamp or desk lamp, flashlight, surge protector, etc.

How can I change my apartment and/or bedroom assignment?
You can type up a written request to change rooms and will be placed on a waiting list. If a room in your requested apartment opens up, you will then be placed if all other roommates approve.

How can I request a double bedroom apartment?
You can type up a written request to be put on the two bedroom wait list. If a two bedroom apartment should become available and you're next on the list, you will then be placed.
